G is for Gorgeous Glass

So yeah I told you I was going to be searching for marvelous people who create marvelous pieces of art whether it be paper, glass, ink, paint etc...(you get the picture)

Well friends I found me someone !!!

And that someone is SurlyMermaid over at Etsy.

She has some gorgeous pieces at her Art Theraphy shop of fused glass such as this marvelous little find that can be used to hold jewelry, coins, ashes from the person you just killed and burned or as an amazing accent piece.

Not only is Emmy a totally cool and kick ass funny chick, she's also a great artist and designer with these amazing pieces.

The picture below is a business card holder how freakin cool is that? Not only do you get a card holder but you're getting a piece of art.

Retro is Randy!!!

So yeah sue me, been away for a couple of days and I don't mean "away" as on a tropical villa being fanned by muscular semi naked guys feeding me grapes. I mean away from catching up, due to working on new designs and custom orders for some wonderful folks who are getting hitched. And of course working my "real" job, seems like that gets in the way of alot for me..sigh..

Well been working on a few new designs...I really love retro-- anything that is funky and retro I'm there....I have a thing for the beaded curtains and yet somehow I don't have any in my humble abode so I decided to create some on paper..in a chichi swanky elegant like sort of way.

Here are two of them....only 2 you say? No there are more I'm just too darn lazy sitting on my chair in my cozy fleece robe to upload any more at the moment.

I'm really digging these and I hope you lovely folk will too. There is this lovely little hologram sparkle disc in the middle of the name, to add some pizazz.

Those absolutely fab lil' gems just love them, after trillions and trillions of hours in front of the computer searching for great embellishments, I found these lil' suckers and now I'm a huge fan.
Well enjoy! I'm off to see the wizard...actually I'm really not off to see the wizard, I just have to go and finish up some orders.

Sure everyone loves Hallmark when you care enough to send the very best. But take a look at us SEXIAN's when you care enough to send the very best..with handmade pizzaz.

Sexian's yep that's what I call the full lot of us who love to design and make handmade stationery and invitations with a little TLC.

As I scoured the web for free porn some amazing POP-ups appeared of talented stationery designers, who like yours truly love paper and handmade greetings. In a world of automated people, voice mails, e-mails, e-invites, e-greetings (Well you get the picture)

It is a warming cockles of my heart feeling when you open your mailbox and there is a lovely envelope enclosing a lovely note or invitation.

Something that says, " I cared enough to send the very best with handmade pizazz."

As I kept searching for more Sexians. I came across Etsy and the marvelous world it has created for handmade goods. ( Yes I do look at all the amazing things for sale on Etsy) But I am not ashamed to admit that I'm and Etsy Paper Goods Junkie.

The talent I've seen is quite spectacular, it's made me want to be the best paper person I can be.

So next time you're at a supermarket (GASP) looking for birthday cards or at a drugstore buying packaged fill-in-the blank invitations (...O.K. I'm back passed out as I was writing that horrendous line)...Please don't forget that there are us Sexians at Etsy or all over the web (usually on pg. 35 of a web search for invitations) who are here to design and create a special card or invitations for when you care enough to send the very best with handmade pizzaz.

Paper People

Paper People? You mean to tell me there are people living amongst us made of paper?

Of Course not don't be ridicoulous (Balky Bartokomis circa late 80's early 90's tv)

Paper People (paper pee-ple) NOUN:

People who love paper; people with paper fetish, obsession.

I stand up in the middle of my office and say, " My name is Vanessa and I'm a paper freak, been touching, rubbing, feeling and sometimes licking paper for quite some time"

And I ain't ashamed to admit it.

Paper People: Us who love paper andy texture, design, size, folded or unfolded, scored or unscored etc... etc...

There's nothing like a pretty patterened paper (trying saying that 3x fast) flowing through your hands...lord I'm getting excited just thinking about it.

Paper People are those of us who create lovely works of art ie. invitations, cards, stationery etc...

and put a smidgen fo ourselves in every piece. (this is getting quite emotional for me)that's what paper people are and as I scour the web in search of more paper people like myself I will ask them (or beg) to share their masterpieces on this blog.

SUMMER IS OVER

Sure some of us get a 3 day weekend come labor day..but it also means the party is over....summer is over, vacation is over, schools starting..kinda sucks if you ask me. Time to get ready again to break out the fall clothes and soon after the winter clothes start shopping for christmas.....damn I'm getting tired just thinking about it already.

Anyway took a little week off to go to Miami..yep it was damn hot. I don't do well in that heat so don't ask me what possesed me to go. Had a good time although I got a 1st degree burn on my back which wasn't quite pleasent or pretty..but I got over it and I'm back to designing invitations and stationery. While I was away I didn't have access to my puter and boy I thought I was missing an appendage. What did we do when we had no computers? Don't know I kind of blurred that time out of my mind.

Anywho have designed some new nastee notes which I think are quite fun and "dirty" will post some pics up soon. Been searching the web for stationery and invitation designers and have found quite some talent out there so hopefully if they are kind enough I will post there stuff here too...

Well I'm off for now..I'm getting a crimp in my neck (I guess it happens at my age 32) and I need to rest.
