John W. Golden

Came across this fab etsy shop.....John W. Golden. These are my favorite prints. Can use these in my son's room
"I have been involved in art since I was 11 or so, way back in the 70's. In that time, I have created a large catalog of work in photography and illustration, and my commercial work in design and animation has been seen on Cartoon Network, Animal Planet, Nickelodeon, CBS, TNT, TBS, PBS, and TechTV.I create all my work digitally, mostly starting with a blank screen and using the mouse or a pen and graphics tablet to create an image. I use scans in my collage work, but everything else is painted or drawn within the computer"

What Happened?

I have never posted about a television program before...because gasp...I hardly watch TV...but this season I got somewhat hooked on Dancing with the Stars and last night I missed whatever happened with Cristian De La Fuente...my hot stud....so whoever can fill me on that I would appreciate it....

Poison Apple Shirts

I was searching for a tee shirt with a graphic of a pistol(s)...and I came across a most excellent Etsy seller...Poison Apple Shirts.
I quickly snatched up this shirt below.

I think his profile is just perfect with a touch of funny....

"Genetically splice two parts dodo bird, one part social chameleon, three parts eccentric peacock, then top it off with a heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream and you've got the recipe for Mark la mode. I'm an artist/screenprinter in Orange County and own a Clothing company but what I really want to do is build giant robots to take over the world.I create every single illustration, animation, photograph, graphic design, and t-shirt myself. I also enjoy sharing and networking with other artists"

There are some really great designs in his shop check out Poison Apple Shirts here

Noguchi Tea Cups

All I have to say is that my birthday is next month...and whoever wants to get me these Noguchi tea cups ...I won't refuse them...."In 1952, Noguchi created prototypes for tea cups and saucers that were never put into production. Noguchi had spent the last few years living and working on the land of the eminent Japanese potter Kitaoji Rosanjin. While these cups offer all the sleekness of modern design, they are actually based on an old terra-cotta cup that Noguchi owned."

Mark your calendars...June 15th....

My New Obsession

Something I came across...I don't even know how...well probably in my useless searches for "stuff" online....I happened to come across this amazing site called Polyvore

"Polyvore is a unique, easy-to-use web-based application for mixing and matching products from any online store. Items are pulled together into a visual set of products that can be shared with anyone. Each product within the set is then linked back to the online store where it is available for purchase. "

I have been working on these layouts since yesterday going back and forth searching for pictures online...(yeah that's right playing around with Polyvore while there are orders to be filled out) someone help me get my priorities straight!

I really like this one above

I love this pinup one I just made whatch think?

I'm actually working on Polyvore as I type this blog entry.....I need help...someone get me the number to Polyvores Anonymous

I found Polyvore 2 days ago and I have spent almost every free minute on it.....these are some of the collages I have created....and I'm working on some more

Nicholas Pinney

I love planning events...I used to be a wedding planner...but had to give it up...now I just plan some events for fun....when I have the chance..but I have not come across something so bold and so elegant as the events designed by Nicholas Pinney in quite some time. I absolutely adore the detail and color of this design below.

"Since 1986 Nicholas Pinney has been creating distinctive, high quality, special events for both corporate and private clients. Nicholas brings to each project a unique combination of visual design experience and custom production expertise. His skill in delivering both dramatic vision and attention to detail was developed through his extensive career in Visual Merchandising with leading retailers in London, New York, Toronto and Montreal, including Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Holt Renfrew. Clients are drawn to Nicholas for the inspirational and creative ways in which he transforms the mundane to the marvellous; always meeting or exceeding a client’s objectives whether this is reinforcing a brand or creating an unforgettable social event."

Robot Galaxy

Yesterday my hubby, my bouncing baby boy and I went to the mall...nothing exciting...but as we trekked through t all the stores...we came upon this one store that I had never seen or heard of before...called Robot Galaxy.....
Right away I looked at my son and his eyes turned into the size of quarters..."Guys we have to go in there" yeah that's right he calls his parents (us) guys....

So we went in there at first all I saw was robot parts and for a second didn't quite get it....but then I kept looking around and realized this was like the Build-a-bear store but here you build Robots!!!

How cool is that...finally a store for boys....girls have the build -a- bear (yeah boys can do that too..), they have American Girl Doll and that Libby Lu....

So we got some help from one of the stores "G- Force Organizers" we picked Pango (that's the robots name) then we picked the top half of the robot, the bottom half and then proceeded to choose which arms my son wanted on the robot.

Then we were taken to Mission Control ( a computer) where the Robot was "programmed" to say my son's name and other sayings...but the coolest part was when my son had to take the "key" the robot comes with a key....and the robot was placed on a platform .....there was a countdown...and my son had to turn the key and the platform raised up .....culminating in the Robots being brought to life and activated.....

(this is Pango..but we got different arms)

I thought it was pretty cool...my 4 yr old was more interested in taking everyone's keys and sending the robots up the platform....
So 60 bucks later we came out of the store and my son was interested in knowing where his robot KEY was.....I guess I will be playing with Pango from now on.

The Lessons He's Leaving Behind

As most of you who read my blog know...I tend to write mostly about sarcastic and humourous things from time to time. But today I'm taking a different route. I came across an article in Parade magazine which truly has inspired and honestly has changed my outlook on life and the way I will do things from now on.
I would like to share this story with you so that you too may be inspired. Maybe some of you have heard of him already for those of you who have not he is Randy Pausch...a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University, a husband, a father and a son who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2006. He was told by doctors he only has months to live.
He gave a "Last Lecture" which is an academic tradition: " What wisdom would you impart to the world if you knew it was your last chance?" (unfortunately for Randy this is true) at Carnegie Mellon in September 2007 to a pack filled room. (Which I just spent the most wonderful 76 minutes watching) here.
The Wall Street Journal called it "the lecture of a lifetime" It was viewed and downloaded over a million times in the first month after it's delivery.

In this lecture Randy talked about the lessons he has learned in life and how to live life to the fullest. "How to live your childhood dreams"

1. Always have fun

2. Dream Big

3. Ask for what you want

4. Dare to take a risk

5. Look for the best in everybody

6. Make time for what matters

7. Let kids be themselves

I'm not going to give you a brief synopsis on each because I want you to take time to go and watch the speech here
You can also watch this week Wednesday April 9th on ABC a special with Randy Pausch by Dianne Sawyer at 10pm "The Last Lecture: a love story for your life"
In conclusion all I have to say is that I am a fun loving Tigger and will be from this day forward...(watch his speech and you will know what I'm talking about!)

7 Things

I was tagged by Katelyn Jane with Seven Random Facts about myself that folks don't know.
I did this before, a few months ago, but it was fun so I'll do it again
Here are the rules:
1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Ok here goes:

1. I don't like cruises...never been on one never will, I guess it's the fact that I was a film major and most films I watch leave quite an impression on me. So I figure if I go on a cruise...something along the lines of the "Titanic" will happen and I don't know how to swim but with my luck I would probably survive the drowing part and while I'm waiting to be rescued something along the line of "Jaws" might happen and a big ol' shark will sneak up on me and eat me alive....so yeah I don't dig cruises, boat rides etc....

2. I am a coca-cola slash pepsi junkie...I can drink a pack of 12 cans in ONE day...yeah that's right 12 cans in one day ladies and gentlemen....I have issues...but the damn thing is so tasty I can't give it up!

3. I can't ride a bicycle I know for shame my loving father tried his darndest to teach me when I was a kid...but I just couldn't get it....shameful I know...

4. I can do a mean impression of Dino...c'mon folks the purple pet dinosuar from the Flinstones...yeah that's right next time they do another movie they should call me to do Dino's yelp, bark whatever the hell you can call it.

5. I am a huge Elvis fan...when I was 14-16 that's all I would listen too....my parents thought I was nuts....what 14 yr old girl would listen to Elvis in the 90's...if there are more of you out there let me know we can start a club or something

6. (Damn 2 more to go...) I'm a watch collector...geeky you say....no just a disease....I own (seriously) 300 watches...I have 5 drawers filled with watches yeah most of them need their batteries replaced but hey...currently I have my eye on a few....but I'm trying to cut back...when I was in my teens I would wear 2 watches on the same wrist....but wasn't that fashionable then? or did I think it was?

7. (sheesh finally the last one)....And to Katelyn Jane's #1 fact about herself....I on the other hand LOVE LIVER! I do I even had some today..no joke! My mommy made it and I ate every little morsel of it....LOVE LIVER...just love it!

Ok now to tag 7 lovely people:
Toi from Syotha would be Proud
Marilyn from Pulp Sushi
Lea from More Cupcakes and Sunshine
This Old Hen House

Bonghi Natura

I'm so excited...

I never win anything seriously or get anything for free...I entered a contest at the Hostess blog and I won these for my son!

He will love them!

What a Croc

For those of you who have been hiding under your bed under the covers under a rock and don't know what Crocs are...they are those ever so comfy but not so good looking shoes that everyone including some Granny's have been wearing.

I have to say that I thought I would never wear those plastic like hole filled shoes...but during our trip to Disney this New Year's ...none of the shoes I took with me were accomodating my corns and callouses during those very very long walks through the parks. So I had to give in to breaking my style sense and had to purchase a pair. I went all out.. the ones I purchased are black and red with Mickey Mouse shaped holes...I even bought the little doo dads that you stick in the holes to decorate them!

But anywho...Crocs has come up with let's say a more "stylish" sandal and they are available in an array of styles.

(don't click on the link since I "borrowed" this picture from Crocs)

So maybe just maybe I will purchase a pair...and I'm sure you kiddies will too!

Beautiful Cupcakes

You all know that I love cupcakes....so here is another post about them...these are actually cupcake wrappers which are the most beautiful things I've seen!
I never knew these beauties existed...but my long web searches for cupcakes finally gave me a result which I am so in love with

"Laser-cut cupcake wrapper. Easily assembles to slip your favorite cupcake or candy-filled cup into a marvelous display. "

Marvelous indeed!

These are just perfect for weddings! You can find them at Estilo Weddings

Handbag (Nyquil) Junkie...

As I went to purchase my Nyquil at Duane Reade yesterday I happened to stroll down the magazine aisle...I have a thing with magazines I subscribe to most and the ones that I don't well they are picked up when I go for my weekly Nyquil purchases (just kidding I don't buy Nyquil weekly ...what ya think I'm a junkie?)

So my eyes happened to land on the new In Style magazine...not cause Ms. Squinty-eyed-pouty mouth Renee Zelweiger (however you spell it) is on the cover...but I saw the word "color" and I think I need a tad more color in my life....my wardrobe consists of browns, blacks, greys, dark army greens and an occasional white.

As I looked through the chunky mag packed with delightful findings that my caviar taste but Mcdonalds dollar menu budget wanted so badly I came across these beauties that I want but can't have.

1. Burberry Drawstring Tote: $995.00 (pocket change) available at Neiman Marcus

2. Coach Patent Francine in Teal: $798.00 (money that's lingering in my house) available at Coach

3. Oscar De La Renta Larrabee Python Doctor Bag: $3995.00 (my son's college fund) available at Neiman Marcus (c'mon the kid is talented and good looking...he doesn't really need to go to college)

4. Ralph Lauren Scarf Bag: $3185.00(health insurance money) hey at least I will look good when I'm at the hospital available at Ralph Lauren

Damn that Nyquil habit...I should have never stepped foot into Duane Reade this week!
Then there was this...the Kenneth Jay Lane Octopus ring....I really really really love it...I have 2 of his rings (one which I'm sporting in the pic with my blue nail polish)
I purchased this nail polish at Sephora cause you know I needed a tad more color in my life...and either people think I'm strange or hip happening....my dentist (yeah the man who pulled my chompers out last week) commented "Oh that's bright..looking for a change" I just wanted to say "dude..it's just nail polish now do your job collect your 2,000 dollars and let me get out of here!

Then another guy "Oh look at the M&M colored nail polish"....I mean it's not even remotely the same color as the blue M&M....so I just chuckled and gave him a dirty look.

And finally I really think it's fate that me and that teal Coach handbag get together here is the proof:

Both the bag and nail polish match! Well if you all want to donate to my handbag fund just e-mail me and I will give you the details to my paypal account .

Unless Oprah, Martha (as in Stewart) or Ellen (as in Degeneres) read my blog...find out about my Nastee Notes...mention them on the air...invite me to their shows...then I will be a millionaire able to afford these bags which are calling my name.

New Header

Or should I just go back to the regular header?
Opinions and advice would be gratly appreciated!

Chandelier Craze Continues...

Yep...more of my brand spankin new Chandelier designs....and just warning you there will probably be more posts with Chandelier designs coming soon...so if you are sick of them already then honestly I don't know what to tell ya!

I had wanted to try this layout for the longest time...what was stopping me you ask? Frankly I don't know I think I was fighting a bout with the laziness monster....but I'm actually quite pleased with the way it turned out....What do you think?
