Gladiators?????????????

I don't know about you...but I am just not feeling the Gladiator comeback. Something about them just reminds me of savage fights at the Colisseum. Well it looks like these puppies are back with a vengeance. I am seeing them everywhere I go. I mean it's great if you have lovely feet to show off, but don't be wearing gladiators if you have corns the size of a small planet. C'mon!
I don't know I will just stick with regular flat sandals in the meantime and if the fashion bug bites me which it always seems to do I will yell for help so I don't go and purchase any of these beauties.

Addicted.....

Why oh why is this stuff so damn good! For crying out loud I've had a coca-cola addiction since I was a wee tot....(yeah that's right blame my mother) they gave me a sip of it....and that damn monkey on my back was born......
I've tried to give it up or at least cut down..but my efforts have not been successful...ah who am I kidding I never really tried hard enough to quit...I'm just fooling myself.
Coca-cola should really give me stock in their company...I have been one of their loyal customers since I was in diapers...don't you think that counts for something? Well let me run...need to go to the fridge to grab that beautiful sparkly red can that is taunting me as I write this....

National Stationery Show 2008

I headed to the Stationery Show on Sunday here in NYC at the Javits Center and it was so much fun! Had a chance to meet and talk to some fab designers and buyers. I wanted to take more pics...but I was so overwhelmed by all the assortment of paper products that I was in some state of Nirvana and totally forgot to take pics....so hopefully I will have a chance to go back on Wednesday. I met Anna from Modern Printed Matter, I have been a huge fan of her work since I saw her on Etsy and it was a pleasure to chat with her for a few minutes and to look at her work which is even more spectacular in person.

I also had a chance to meet Jennifer from Made By Girl, I'm a regular visitor to her blog and I so dig her work.

It was really exciting to see upcoming trends and all the wonderful and new products that are out there. I think I'm brave enough now to hopefully exhibit next year....I will keep you posted with other Stationery Show news during the week

Love me a Contest....

I was so excited when I won Heather's birthday contest giveaway....yeah that's right instead of getting presents for her birthday, Heather had a contest and she gave away goodies on her birthday and I happened to be the lucky winner....I received my goodie box and I was so excited...she sent me a set of stationery from Swanky Paper (which is her company)...and I love it, truly beautiful....

She also sent me a pair of some beautiful earrings with brown beads and a lovely brown scarf...I think Heather knows my favorite color!!! they are perfect! To top things off she added Kiehl's lip balm which I am so digging!

Well Heather you made my day.....thanks so much!!!

80's Nastee's

I've been on an 80's revival kick lately...yeah don't ask me why? Maybe because I am somewhat a product of that "Members Only" era....
I started to think wouldn't it be cool to have some cards with sayings from the 80's (yes I'm sure it has been done already but what the heck)
Here are 2 that I have finished....
So I'm heading over to the National Stationery Show this weekend at the Jacob Javits here in NYC...no I'm not exhibiting because I didn't have the nerve...just yet. Maybe next year. But I will be taking a look at all the wonderful paper products that will be there so I know I will be in heaven and also shedding some tears because there will be things that are just way soooo much better than my own stuff.
But I will be taking my handy dandy camera to take pics and also hopefully will make some contacts to promote my work.
I'm off to finish some orders that need to be shipped on this very rainy day in NYC.

Crafti-nessa

On top of everything I have going on I decided I was going to offer some Topiaries to a local church....yeah I know I'm trying to be a good person.....so here are some I did 2 topiaries and some sort of bouquet thingy yesterday...I still have a few more to do but the glue gun burns on my fingers shattered my momentum and this is all I finished.....

Since I'm showing my crafty side... here are some chocolate pops I did for my son's Spring school party 2 weeks ago....I didn't make the little fence basket folks...I'm crafty but not a Carpenter....

Mamaisms

Mamaisms is such a cool site and they have great tees which I love...all with sayings of what your Momma's used to say to you when you were kids (or as mine still does even though I'm thirty-something) "Mind Your Manners"

"Quit Whining"

And my ever so favorite "Watch your mouth" because honestly that's all I seem to say around my house these days...and to top it off it's in my favorite shade of brown..yeah I know what you are thinking... "browns are all the same" (but not when your closet is full of brown clothes....I have become a brown color specialist or maybe I should just work for UPS????)

And the best part of buying from Mamaisms:

"Mamaisms Gear is all about strong mothers and strong families. We donate 5% of our profits to a local outreach program: The Child Advocacy Commission and The Parenting Place. Through their support groups and educational services they address the issues facing at risk families and those overcoming the legacy of domestic violence "
