More on lil' Ol' Me...

I am honored and thrilled that some people have e-mailed me questions in wanting to know more about me (yeah I was shocked myself)....I am going to re-post an entry I wrote back on August 13, 2007....yeah way back when I just started this blogging thingy....a few things have changed ...I'm no longer 32....(but as I have said whoever doesn't read this I'm still 25)....so the post is below for your reading enjoyment (at least I hope it's enjoyable!)

There's a first time for everything

Funny how sometimes you don't notice massive outbreaks of modern technology even if it Bitch slaps you on the face every stinkin day.
Well that friends has happened to me with this blog thing. I can honestly say I'm very computer savvy (ya know the usual breaking codes, passwords, hacking here and there working with a trojan or two (laugh here)...But all this time I had not paid mind to the world of blogging.

All this time blogs on the news, web, public restrooms (we all have to pee don't we?)
and still I never paid attention.

So I guess in a moment of uncrafty weakness, I was lured to a blog in search of new ideas for invitations and design and lo and behold the world of blogging had held me captive in a world that seemed as fascinating to me as I guess the garden of Eden did to Adam & Eve.

I thunk for a minute.."Hey I can do this..." So here I am in a humble attempt at capturing your interests with my rants of quirkiness.

PortuCube (Oh that's a Portuguese/Cuban)..that's me, with a degree in film and broadcasting and a self given degree in Craftiness.

Yes Craftiness...makes the world a happier place...I guess you can say I've been crafty all my life...thus bringing happiness to the world one craft at a time.

Yes of course I had other ambitions besides being crafty..I worked in the television and film world for some years, but due to life's unforseen events Ihad to bow out of that world.
What I do now is neither lucrative nor mind challenging but it's what I must do.

Couple of years ago a friend was getting married and needed invitations...so in a state of CRAFTY NIRVANA I volunteered for the job at task

TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT (since I probably lost you during last's paragraph rant of self pity) received a lot of compliments on the invites and here I am today...designing and creating custom hand made invites and stationery for lovely people all across planet earth.

Well that's my story, I will try my darndest to keep this blog exciting and boring free...as I try to be the next Martha Stewart of stationery (without going to the slammer)

Where does the time go?

I can't believe how quickly time flies...or maybe I'm just getting older and am more aware of the time escaping through my blue nail polish colored hands.....today my bouncing baby boy graduates from his little Pre-K class.....I can't believe that he will be off to Kindergarten come September....then high school then college then he will be on the road as a Super Star Singing Doctor....(ok let's take it slow for a moment)

So I didn't spend my entire Sunday playing Guitar Hero as you all might think...no Sir....I was being crafty prepairing for my little guys Big Day today.....

I made a centerpiece of a graduation hat...surrounded by chocolate lollipops in the shapes of Butterflies and little graduation hats....

And some goodie bags for the little tykes....

So...I will be shedding some tears (of joy) as my little guy finishes his class today....and I keep wondering where has the time gone?

Guitar Hero on Tour

So you all know that I'm ...well a tad obsessed with Guitar Hero video game...so I ventured to Toys "r" Us yesterday to purchase the brand spankin new Guitar Hero on Tour for the Nintendo DS.

Yes I know I'm a child...but this game is just plain awesome.....just picture me and my 4yr old bouncing baby boy fighting over video games....yes this does happen in my house!

But..I love this game on the Wii...it is a tad more difficult or should I say uncomfortable to play it on the DS...but I guess I will get the hang of it....or just keep complaining. All I can say is that I'm counting the days for next Sunday when Guitar Hero Aerosmith comes out...I will be probably camping out in front of Toys "r" Us....so if you don't hear from me, you know where I will be.

Chaising around....

I'm trying to design some new items.....while busy with orders.....here is one of my new Chaise collection cards...which I really like and I hope you do too....I've always loved chaise lounges....and am designing stationery with several different styles

Walk-In Dream...

You know how everyone has a fantasy of something or other?...well mine happens to be of one day having a walk in closet....yes that's right a closet the size of a small NYC apt...would make me so happy......

But alas....I don't have one...even though I keep begging the hubby to knock down some part of our house and fulfill my dream....but he has burst that dream many a time dammit!

Just looking at this picture (above) makes me misty-eyed with slight heart palpitations.....because I want this...but instead I have my shoes are all in those big bins which takes throwing shoe after shoe on the floor to find a matching pair.....

Paula might be a little wacky sometimes...well most of the time...but she has one awesome closet

Kung Fu Panda

We are in the middle of a quite disgusting HEAT WAVE here in NYC....it was 100 degrees out yesterday and we hear today will be worse.....

I just don't do well in the heat!!!! It zaps my energy...and I feel like doing nothing....

Yesterday since it was so damn HOT we decided to go and see Kung Fu Panda...so the hubs and I took our bouncing baby boy to a lovely air conditioned IMAX theatre and enjoyed the movie....

I give it 2 thumbs up...my boy gave it 2 hands up.....if you haven't seen it...go check it out
