Multiple Personality

My son is obsessed with Super Heroes and cars...yes I know he is of the male species and he is 4....but what do you say when your son comes up to you in the middle of August that he wants to wear a costume to go out?

Do you say well honey...it's August and it's hot and you will be all sweaty? or We only wear costumes on Halloween...or do you reach for the phone book and find the number to the nearest theraphist?

Actually...I love it....and the hubs and I are two suckers who have gone shopping for costumes in the middle of July and August....

I see it as a perfect Kodak moment not to mention a blackmail opportunity for the future when he tries to bring some hussy home! (Yeah that's right I'd blackmail my own son)

So far we have purchased a Spider Man and Bumbleebee Costume (for those of you sans little tykes) Bumblee is a transformer (you know a car that turns into a robot and vice versa) I just couldn't find the Bumblee bee picture at the moment....

The Thing costume (Fantastic Four people...get with it) I was lucky enough to purchase last summer along with some other costumes at a lovely back of the truck sale (wink, wink) Yes, I know I have no morals I paid a thief some money for stolen goods! But at least my son will have costumes to parade in, in the middle of summer! Listen I did it all for my boy!

Olympics 2008

Who knew the Olympics would be so hard....tired, underslept, overworked, glazed look in my eyes, tears of joy...these Olympics have wiped me out.....(imagine if I was actually in the Olympics?...I would be dead)....

So I have been missing in action for the past week or so...have been extremely busy with custom orders, working, my son , home stuff and let's not forget the Olympics! So I'm planning a few things here and there to post on this week.

I think since Michael Phelps (swimming) and Shawn Johnson (gymnastics) are done with their events...my life will be a tad much easier...staying up until 1-2 AM is not as easy as it used to be....guess that's the sure sign that I'm getting old....I decided to face reality and embrace it!

I'm old that's right....can't really stay up late anymore (and if I do, well I just fall apart) can't eat certain things....not because they are bad for me (they just give me gas) thought I share that with you. And now to top it all off my middle finger on my right hand is killing me!!! Arthritis you say....I say so too!

My finger is looking kinda crooked and it hurts like a bitch! What am I supposed to do if I have to give someone the F*** You finger? Do I flip them my arthritic crooked finger? or do I practice how to flip the bird with my left hand? Geez who knew life would get so hard as you age?

Anywho....I'm off for now....hopefully I will catch up on some Zzzzz's and bandage up my crooked arthritic finger and be back in tip top shape tommorrow......

Jen Stark

My love of paper leads me to search after search on different types of paper art. So when I came across Jen Stark's creations, I was in LOVE!!!!
Her work is just pure genius. Her paper sculptures are magically hypnotic. Jen has been featured in numerous magazines and her work is exhibited in galleries all over.Even good ol' Kanye West has featured her work on his blog.

Created by cutting by hand a stack of cardstock paper.
"My work is inspired by the unseen potential of common things. The forms and concepts are inspired by the mysteries that lay at the bottom of the ocean and at the edges of the universe. The results resound with ideas of replication and infinity, often on a minute scale, echoing patterns and intelligent designs found in nature. Through the use of simple cutting techniques I strive to create beautifully complex structures that reveal how remarkable common materials can become. I hope to help everyone discover the simplicity of beauty and mystery through my work"

Cupcakes & Sunshine

I am in awe of people who can create gorgeous cards. It takes alot of talent and patience to create these masterpieces. One of those people is Lea Lawson from Life needs a few more cupcakes and Sunshine. I simply adore each and every one of her creations. It was quite difficult to just pick a few to post here....but you can see her gallery here.

Lea has won several awards for her designs including the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Magazine Hall of Fame and you can see why:

I wish I had the patience and talent to create such wonderful and amazing pieces....but I guess I will just have to do with being inspired by Lea's work.
