Home Sweet Coffee

As if I don't have enough vices already.....Cafe Bustelo just added me to their hit list! When we were down in Orlando a couple of weeks ago we headed to Downtown Disney to go to Bongo's Cuban Cafe (owned by Gloria Estefan)...I needed to eat something other than nuggets or burgers or cold disgusting salads. So Bongo's was the place for me...hadn't had my momma's cooking in a few days and needed something to remind me of mi casa....
But what to my wondering eyes did appear?

this:

Bustelo's cold cafe con leche (good ol' coffee with milk) but it's the strong coffee kind. I am a coffee connoisseur...in my house there are about 5 different kinds of coffee maker contraptions. Maybe it's the fact that in my house since one is a wee lad they start giving you coffee like it's going out of style...seriously no joke! My grammy use to make a pot of coffee...when I mean pot I mean this contraption:

She used to make it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and everyone had it...everyone including the diaper wearing members of the family (yeah the old ones too) My mother used to make it too...until...she was brainwashed by her doctors telling her that caffeinated coffee was not good for you...gasp the woman drinks folgers decaf now...let's hope the rest of the family doesn't find out the attrocity.

The coffee was so strong you could be awake for months....usually when I head down to Miami or Jersey (since it's closer to my casa) I search for one of these:

this my friends is a Cuban "cortadito" or in other words something so damn potent that you will be jumping off the walls if you are not used to it. Let me put it this way that cup is smaller than a Dixie Cup that you use to rinse out your mouth after you brush your teeth!

I'm American...but I cannot drink American coffee...no can do...ain't gonna happen no siree bob!

So when I came across that Bustelo cold coffee it was like I was in heaven...for heavens sake how come I had never seen that before in my neck of the woods...so I did what any other normal person would do and I went to the Bustelo site and ordered me 3 cases of the juice of the gods.

So add that to my coke addiction (coca-cola folks coca-cola) and boy will I ever be the ever so jumpy caffeine addicted chick!
